The property is located in a historic Roman building, where the rooms preserve vaulted ceilings dating back to the early 20th century, blending classical and contemporary design elements.
A tale worth telling
Cola di Rienzo is one of Rome’s most renowned streets, known for its proximity to the Vatican. Despite its strategic location, it’s a well-known fact that it’s nearly impossible to catch a glimpse of St. Peter’s Dome from here. In fact, the streets of the Prati district were deliberately designed to block direct views of St. Peter’s Basilica, reflecting the Risorgimento-era intent to assert a secular identity distinct from religious authority.
In fact, the goal of the House of Savoy — key figures of the Risorgimento and supporters of a secular, monarchic state — was to envision a Rome without St. Peter’s and the Pope. Their intention was to minimize the visual presence of papal power in the urban landscape.
One of our most distinctive features is the privileged view of the majestic Dome of St. Peter’s: from our property, you can admire it directly — a rare experience in this area, and a precious gift we are proud to offer our guests.
